Just bought a 6027 that I would like to change out the crystal. I bought a new crystal here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400081526270&ssPage Name=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Now how do I go about changing it? I have the case back wrench to open the case , a set of loupes and the proper screwdrivers.

Do I need anything else, besides some directions from you guys who are smarter than I, to accoplish this task ?

Thanks guys !!

will be the best man to explain this relatively easy task.
On the tiger's recommendation I get my crystals from TRYABIDFORIT at ebay UK price 6GBP plus cheap shipping rate to Aussie.

Here's 3 I prepared earlier, lol

Very Happy even tho' I rarely use them myself, I actually typed in "removal" and had a few interesting "hits."

While we await responses from other enthusiasts, you may want to check out this previous forum post:

John,

Thanks for the link. It sounds like I can do everything but putting in the new crystal as I do not have a crystal press.

Is this a must or is there an alternative method tool to get the new crystal installed.

Does this appear to be the proper crystal?

Thanks All!!

Hi,I've changed about 6 crystals, and have pressed them all in by hand with no problems at all.

OK Gang,

Thanks for all the great info !! I received the Bellmatic 4006-6027 today.

All appears to be in good working order and the case appears to be in good shape. The crystal not so much. But I have the new one in hand so I'll follow all the instructions and break it all down later tonight.

I will post my success on Sunday.

Thanks all again...

Hey folks. Hope you don't mind me resurrecting this thread from the depths of time.

My first post.

Just bought my first Bellmatic - a 6027.

The crystal is a little damaged and a google search has brought me to your door.

Could anyone confirm that this particular crystal will fit my lovely new 6027 please?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350331554381&_trk parms=tab%3DWatching

I did email the seller, who seems like a nice guy, but isn't 100% sure.

Thanks for any help.

Tony
