Post subject: My first Bell |
|
|
Well after much searching i have bought my first "Bell" abet for my brother and as a christmas present
My Brother is a high flying bank johnny in Hong Kong, with the works! Penthouse (jardine's lookout), super gorgeous wife and the $ to go with it, But no life starts at 7am and is home at 8-9Pm, 6 days a week. I keep telling him to make sure I'm in his will the heart can only take so much stress...
He is a budding WIS without a watch, so what do you buy the man with the lot?? A birthdate watch and a 27J Bell is the most fitting. So this is his Christmas present and will go to Peter K in Australia for a complete re-lifing. There looks to be a little staining on the dial and the rotating ring and the case will need some love, not sure about the bracelet but it looks like one in the 4006-7010 photos. I'm hoping that it looks better in the flesh.
Oh the photos are from the seller

Looks like a nice watch for your brother.
The business man who has everything...except time.
Looks like a wonderful bracelet. Great set of hands.
Can't see the dial too well, pictures are a bit blurred. _________________ Vanitas vanitatum, et omnia vanitas |

nice bell and by the way who is Peter K..?
Heres a pic of my Bell I bought of ebay for about $12..(got lucky)when I first got it, it was all scratched up ,the old plating was worn badly so I got it replated by a Sydney jeweler and put in a new crystal myself, spent about $80 restoring it.. the movement was in excellent condition...has a minty dial and is my prized possesion (have 2 other bells but they are S/S )

Oh John.. I know I have been looking high and low (' ') for a "coffin link"bracelet at an affordable price but there hard to find..it just does'nt feel complete without a proper band...(I could try a modern Seiko GP band but would much rather an original Bell band ) the search continues.. |
